Louise Manalo of the Philippines scored 53 points to grab the lead as Crystal Shin and Eva Miñoza failed to sustain their momentum in the second round of the 45th Southern Ladies golf tournament at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Binitin, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The US-born Manalo, who joined the ICTSI golf stable last March, had one birdie on No. 5 against two bogeys then parred the rest for 53 points, equivalent to a oneover card in stroke play.

Counting her frist round score of 52, the 15-year-old Manalo found herself ahead of the pack by one stroke with a 105-point aggregate heading into the last 18 holes of the event played under the Molave scoring system.
