24 February 2008 No Comment

Korea’s Choi Kyung-ju’s challenge at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship came to an end after he lost to world number one, Tiger Woods on Saturday.

Woods beat Choi 3 and 2 in the quarter-finals at The Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain to set-up a semi-final match against defending champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden.

Choi, who won the Sony Open in Hawaii last month, was all square with Woods through the front nine, but the world number one came out blazing after the turn.

Woods won the 10th with an eagle and continued to capture the 12th and 14th with birdies en-route to his victory over Choi.

Fiji’s Vijay Singh also ended his run at the championship after Justin Leonard of the US advanced to the semi-finals with a one-up victory over the Fijian.
