First round leader Nick Dougherty managed to hold on to his lead on the second round of the Maybank Malaysian Open, sharing the same spot with Malaysian Danny Chia and India’s Jyoti Randhawa, with 12-under aggregate 132.

Dougherty struggled with bogeys on the 2nd and 16th holes to round up the second day of the $2 million golf tournament with a two-under-par 70.

Chia, who finished 4th in the first round Thursday, fired up the field with several birdies to gather a 5-under-par 67 on the second round Friday, while Randhawa made an impressive 7-under-par 65 to climb up the leaderboard from the 17th spot.
