Golf Nut Society and International Players Tour Form Strategic Partnership
The Golf Nut Society (GNS) and the International Players Tour (IPT) have announced a strategic partnership to enhance membership benefits and player communications with their respective organizations.
The Golf Nut Society, the longest running golf community on the Internet, recently revitalized their web site to reach the growing number of “nuts,” who are addicted to finding “the Secret” of the elusive perfect game.
In recognition of IPT members “Living the Dream” of playing tournament golf at the highest level, GNS will provide complimentary lifetime Golf Nut Society membership to each current IPT member.
IPT members play for significant prize money with their handicaps, including a $20,000 pay day for the 2008 Tour Championship winner.
Michael Donovan, Head Nut of GNS, says “We’re delighted with this superb partnership with the IPT. Clearly, their concept of developing international competition for significant cash epitomizes our endorsement of their members as ‘golf nuts’. And we believe many IPT members will be strong competitors for our Golf Nut of the Year Award.”
In addition to mutual web links and membership communications, IPT will also promote the GNS membership ($24.95 Lifetime membership) at each of its 200+ events around the country in 2008.
“We’re truly excited about the relationship with GNS,” said Bill Conwell, IPT SVP of Business Development. “We’re honored that they have rewarded our players with GNS membership, and look forward to sharing the GNS story with all avid golfers at the courses we play.
In addition, the on-line Golf Nut Forums provide a great source of information from around the world – both serious and humorous”. Future plans between these two rising membership organizations include combined golf events, mutual sponsorships, and sharing of interactive audio and video capabilities on their web sites.

About International Players Tour (IPT)
International Players Tour, operated by prior management of Champions Golf Tour (CGT), was launched in January 2008 for the purpose of bringing PGA style competition to avid golfers everywhere. Operations began in April 2002 under the banner of the Champions Golf Tour, which was founded by Ron Beaman in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Ron developed a business model that would provide avid recreational golfers a chance to play in an environment similar to major tour events –“inside the ropes” for significant prize money – utilizing a proprietary handicap system.
After conducting its first event in June, 2002, CGT followed with 17 tournaments in2002 and awarded nearly $60,000 in prize money. Significant and sustained growth has occurred in subsequent years in player participation, number of events, and prize money. With over 1200 players in their system, IPT management conducted over 150events in 2007 within ten state and twelve metropolitan city areas with payouts exceeding $570,000.
