Reigning Asian Tour number one Jeev Milkha Singh remained on course for his second win in Europe after posting a one-under-par 71 to share a three shot lead with France’s Christian Cevaer going into the final round of The European Open on Saturday.

No fewer than nine players held at least a share of the third round lead which was littered with high scores, but at the end of the day, it was Singh and Cevaer who broke clear of the chasing pack at nine-under par 207.

Singh had earlier struggled through the early holes after gusty winds swept across the course at the London Golf Club.  However, he birdied the 13th after a fine drive, the 14th with a 20-foot putt and the long 15th with a chip to three feet. The Indian ace then saved his best shot of the day for the 225-yard par-three,17th with another birdie.

“Basically when you are playing in conditions like this, you just try to stay in the present and don’t look at what else is happening,” said Singh.

“I was missing a lot of putts and it was windy. However, I said to myself to just hang in there. I had a shaky start, but I covered up with a good finish,” added Singh who last win in Europe came at the 2008 Bank Austria GolfOpen. (AsianTour.com)
