The global economic crunch has forced automaker General Motors to cut back on costs and decided to end its multi-million endorsement partnership with golf living legend Tiger Woods.
With the official end of the partnership, Woods will no longer be carrying the golf bag that has the Buick logo on it. The GM endorsement deal, believed to be worth at least $7 million a year, was to expire at the end of 2009.

Golf Star Tiger Woods will be joined in by Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant in one explosive commercial for a sports shoe and apparel company that gathers together the three world sports icon in few seconds of TV ads.
It was Pacquiao who broke the information to Philippine media, although he was earlier criticized for allegedly snubbing a shoot with Kobe Bryant while he was preparing for the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.

Korean stalwart Choi Kyung-ju closed in at the top of the pack when he was four under after 14 holes at the WGC – CA Championship before play was suspended due to darkness on Saturday.

India’s Jeev Milkha Singh climbed up the ranks after a solid two-under-par 70 placed him in a tie for fourth place at the WGC – CA Championship on Friday, just two places behind Tiger Woods who was in lone second place after a 66.
Woods was one stroke behind round leader Geoff Ogilvy who shot a 67 for a 132 total.

Newly- honoured Asian Tour member and defending champion, Vijay Singh of Fiji overcame a stomach virus to take charge at the top with a sparkling five-under-par 65 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard on Saturday.

After grabbing the title at the Accenture Match Play event, Tiger Woods is now fourth on the U.S. PGA Tour’s all-time wins list with 63 career victories, passing Arnold Palmer who had 62, and two notches away from taking Ben Hogan’s position at third.

Korea’s Choi Kyung-ju’s challenge at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship came to an end after he lost to world number one, Tiger Woods on Saturday.
 
Woods beat Choi 3 and 2 in the quarter-finals at The Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain to set-up a semi-final match against defending champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden.
 
Choi, who won the Sony Open in Hawaii last month, was all square with Woods through the front nine, but the world number one came out blazing after the turn.

Korea’s Choi Kyung-ju advanced to the quarter-finals of the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship after defeating Paul Casey by two-up to set up a titanic encounter with world number one, Tiger Woods of the US on Friday.
 
Choi, who won the Sony Open in Hawaii last month, birdied his first three holes to build a big lead over Casey and was three-up through seven holes after making an eagle.
